Blind rampant guessing, that’s what! They barely had any idea what chao looked like.Here’s a tidbit for you: The Sonic Adventure adaption was created with only a tiny bit of knowledge on the game, due to having to have Spaz play the Japanese version and translate it for them- or at least that’s the version I heard.
