Game designers and scorers, take note.

This is an advanced system of playing level music for a game. It keeps the background track dynamic by transitioning it based on your progress in the stage as well as your performance. Also, it was done by a college student. This is the kind of stuff games need nowadays.

This is a video I made to promote the Sonic the Hedgehog Hacking Contest, in which participants hack a legacy Sonic game to bits and then put their own stuff in it. Something to that effect. It will coincide with SAGE2011. What’s that? It’s Sonic Amateur Games Expo! SAGE is a FREE web event that focuses on the efforts of aspiring game developers, traditionally those of the Sonic nature.

SAGE2011 is coming! What the heck does that stand for? It’s Sonic Amateur Games Expo!

WHAT IS SAGE?
SAGE is a virtual expo that takes place at http://www.sagexpo.org/. There is no location in real life; the entire event can be accessed online from wherever you are for free. This year, it runs from September 18th - 24th. SAGE is an event that promotes aspiring game developers by showcasing video games based on existing franchises, namely, Sonic the Hedgehog. Established in 2000 by BlazeHedgehog, the event has evolved to become an entire festival of the Sonic community. With a healthy serving of special guests, great games to play, and awesome events, SAGE has grown to be appreciated in many circles across the internet!

SAGE is split between the actual website, which serves as an outlet for developers to promote their games through virtual “booths”, an IRC channel for conversing with fellow v-expo goers, a 24 hour streaming radio station filled of events and fun entertainment, a message board, and, starting this year a video stream.
